I am not one of those people who spends the whole month of November shouting about the all of the things that I am thankful about. If I am thankful for someone or something they know. They know through my actions or my words. For example in this world I am most thankful for my kids, my parents, my sister, brother and my two nieces. Of course also my friends, the gift of words and the ability to share the things in my head with the world. But now that we have established that bit of awesomeness let me share about something else.
A new love that I have discovered. Well maybe not discovered because honestly I have always been a bit fascinated with the world of roller derby. I just hadn’t had the opportunity to try it out for myself. But I have and I don’t think I will be quitting anytime soon. It is just that much fun and addicting and I am thankful for it.
I am thankful for the chance to workout my body while doing something that is fun.
I am thankful for the group of supportive women that I have met and share this new found passion with.
I am also thankful for a sport that is so empowering to women and so accepting of women from all walks of life. It is just that awesome, and I am thankful for that.
But now that I have gotten all of that out, I would love it if you guys who are in the Lufkin, Texas area could check us out. We have awesome things coming up so please follow Lufkin Roller Derby on Facebook and the East Texas Bombers who are teaching us and have graciously taken us under their wings, especially SoHo and MC.
I’m so glad you came out that first day to try it out! Derby has really given us a chance to get to know each other and I’m so thankful to have you around 🙂
