Recently, I had invited a dear friend out for Saturday evening coffee for a girls night. I know, I know, but we are totally low key like that. But after a series of messages we decided to cross the Angelina River and check out the tasting flight at Red House Winery in Nacogdoches, Texas.
I work in Nacogdoches and had passed by the Red House several times, the inviting store front had peaked my interest, but I hadn’t a chance to stop by. So of course when we had discussed it, I jumped on the chance. The environment was excellent. It was so welcoming and (I am so sorry for not remembering her name) the nice woman who helped us was excellent and knowledge about all of the different wines available.
We tried all of the six different wines and I am by no means a wine expert. I just know that the 2016 Sweet Azalea was my favorite. It was an absolute beautiful color and the flavor wasn’t too sweet or too dry. It will definitely be a go to wine for me in the future. My friend I went with loved it and the friend I finished the bottle with also loved it. It was definitely our winner of the night.
